Respecting the Environment

East End Resource Recovery is a state-of-the-art landfill site that accepts construction and demolition (C&D) debris within a 150-mile radius of Richmond, Virginia.  The site is one of a few of its kind in the U.S. to “mine” waste and recover salvageable, recyclable materials for reuse.
By reducing the amount of unprocessed waste material going in the landfill and extracting more than 42% for reuse, more landfill space is usable, extending the life of a landfill cell and reducing the overall amount of land required.

The company uses innovative methods to extract valuable recyclable materials including glass for recycling, metals for resale, and wood products for biofuel. The company also has a tire-recycling venture and is using coal combustion by-product (CCB) as a beneficial use resource in the construction of its landfill.
